Accommodation

How do you decide on where you stay?  How do you even go about booking and searching for safe and cheap accommodation because there is just so many different sites popping up? Easy! You stick with what you know, you stick with suggestions from friends and family who have travelled far and wide and most importantly you should do your research.

So in a lot of people’s opinions it may sound expensive to stay in hotels rather than camp in pitches or in hostels, of course this option may seem less costly but if you can travel in ‘style’ and on a comfy budget then I’d say hell yeah! After all this is meant to be a trip of a lifetime!

Top sites I’ve used and booked through;

http://www.booking.com

http://www.trivago.com/

http://www.kayak.com

http://www.laterooms.com

http://www.lastminute.com

My favourite site so far has to be booking.com. This site is fantastic; it gives you very cheap and reasonable accommodation and you can filter it to what you prefer and really personalise your trip. Other great features and a real winner for Brett & I was the ability to ‘buy now pay later’ with a click you can reserve your chosen hotel and pay how you like to when you get there as well as free cancellations, which we all know will come in handy if anything happens that is out of your control along the way!

They also run a loyalty scheme in that simply the more you book with them, the better the deals they find you on your next trip with hidden secret deals and percentages off just because you book with them.

Other great sites we have used is trivago, similar to booking and kayak but its focused more on giving you great hotels at rock bottom prices. The trick to finding your great deal is to book in advance as much as you possibly can. Most times the better deal is too book 30 days in advance; other sites like laterooms and lastminute thrive of giving you great one chance only deals right up till the day you leave! So it really is a choice of your own and how you want to play out your travels.

Obviously you can book confidently with brands you already know as most chain hotels are available worldwide and these aswell as the comparison sites have great deals and loyalty schemes worth being apart of.

The tip we have is to use the comparison sites. You’ll find chain hotels like IbisAccorBest Western are on these sites and most importantly they do all the nitty-gritty for you and throw all the leg work away, which combines everything YOU want into one page.

  1. I have to thank you for the efforts you have put in writing this website. I am hoping to check out the same high-grade blog posts from you later on as well. In fact, your creative writing abilities has inspired me to get my own, personal site now 😉
